In-home pregnancy care
You will receive in-home, personalized pregnancy care starting at 12 weeks, then routine visits at 17, 22, 27, 32, 35, 37, 39, 40, 41 weeks.
Our midwives even provide in-home prenatal and postpartum care to planned, repeat cesarean birth clients. One additional visit is necessary with a physician to do a consult/preoperative visit performed at 32 weeks. This is only offered through Sentara RMH OB laborists in Harrisonburg at this time.
Labor and birth in the hospital
Our midwives do not have hospital privileges to attend births in the role of primary provider. Clients will be given a copy of their prenatal records at 37 weeks and they can walk into the hospital of their choice when they are in labor. The on-call midwife or physician will provide labor and birth care.
In-home postpartum and newborn care
Clients receive in-home postpartum and newborn care visits on the following schedule:
-1 week
-Optional 2 week in-home postpartum or virtual visit
-6 weeks
Each visit consists of assessments and education for both mom and baby. This means that baby doesn’t need to leave your home to see a pediatrician until they are 2 months old, unless there is a problem or concern.
Direct access
Clients have direct access by phone or email every day of pregnancy until 6 weeks postpartum. Questions are always addressed in 48 hours or less, or more emergent concerns within minutes.

Creation of birth plan and postpartum plan

In-home Pelvic Floor PT evaluation at 6-8 weeks postpartum

Comprehensive Package for Hospital Birth
Up to 9 in-home personalized prenatal visits
In-home fetal anatomy ultrasound
Creation of a postpartum plan

Heather opened a charitable clinic within the walls of Waynesboro FM Church in Waynesboro, Virginia that specifically caters to pregnant mothers in challenging social situations ie.: teens, college students, mothers dealing with substance abuse, homeless mothers, and unsupported mothers to provide personalized, prenatal and postpartum visits to those who don’t carry health insurance or have Medicaid. This care is only for those who are planning a hospital birth.
We will also have a labor doula program that is no cost to Medicaid clients!
