In-home pregnancy care

You will receive in-home, personalized pregnancy care starting at 12 weeks. Monthly visits continue until 32 weeks, twice monthly from 32-38 weeks, then weekly at 38 weeks.

Heather even provides in-home prenatal and postpartum care to planned, repeat cesarean birth clients. One additional visit is mandatory with a physician to do a consult/preoperative visit performed at 32 weeks. This is only offered through Sentara RMH associated with the OB laborists in Harrisonburg at this time.

Labor and birth in the hospital

Heather will soon be attending births with hospital privileges starting with due dates in January 2025. She is currently working out a collaboration with the physicians at Augusta Health. There is also the option for Heather or Kelly to be present in a doula role for labor and birth for clients that wish to give birth at a hospital other than Augusta Health in Fishersville. Kelly does not have hospital privileges for the Charlottesville/Richmond area so she works in a doula role only during labor and birth at the hospital.

In-home postpartum and newborn care

Clients receive in-home postpartum and newborn visits on the following schedule:

-24 hour in-hospital visit, discharge home

-1 week postpartum

-2 weeks postpartum

-6 weeks postpartum

Each visit consists of assessments and education for both mom and baby. This means that your baby doesn’t need to leave your home to see a pediatrician until they are 2 months old, unless there is a problem or concern.

Direct access
